Golden OPEN Acrylics are excellent quality paints and are a pleasure to paint with. They dry more slowly than regular acrylics, thus extending blending time.

This mixing set has all the primary colors that you will need to make your own new colors, or you can separately purchase a tube of Blue, Red, Yellow, Titanium White, and Carbon Black. I would buy the white in the bigger tube or jar.

The sta-wet palette keeps your acrylic paint fresh from one painting session to the next. This way, you don’t have to mix fresh paint every single time you sit down to paint, and you don’t have to waste any paint. This is very useful, especially if you’re using good quality paints.

The original setup comes with a sponge and paint paper, but I prefer upgrading to the 9”/12” Posh glass palette, which fits right inside and cleans much better.

This glass palette fits perfectly in the 13”/12” Masterson Sta-Wet palette; it keeps your paint fresh for weeks, and it’s very easy to clean!

You can mix and manipulate paint with this flexible steel palette knife much better than with a rigid one.

The Fredrix canvas pad is great for experimenting and art on-the-go. You have 10 canvas pads for the space of less than one single framed canvas.

There are certainly fancier paintbrushes out there, but this set is pretty good and has almost everything you need to start painting. The only thing I would add is a script liner brush.
