A Dream Within a Dream

I am the creator of my world, the "Umbilicus Mundi ", the center to and from which everything radiates.

I AM the SOURCE, and it all flows from me.

Reality is subjective, and my aggregate of organs exists only to facilitate universal consciousness experiencing itself, exploring, learning, growing, abiding...

Let go

Too often I get confused, in a world moving much too fast, a culture demanding too much, overflowing scheduling and feeling compelled to run the rat race... Dreams of unstoppable forces of nature are a cry of my subconscious to slow down, and understand that there's no way to keep up with the black-hole-hungry demands of this society. I will never be enough for it. And moreover, I am reminded of wise words that were uttered long ago: "The more I cling, the more I lose it; and the more I give it away, the more it comes back".

"The only ZEN" that you will find on the tops of mountains

is the ZEN you bring up there"

I will stand up and be responsible for my world, for my happiness, and realize that it all flows from within.

It's easy to forget the big picture and live on auto-pilot; but what drives us is a hunger for purpose, of discovering ourselves... What my purpose in life???

Maybe we should ask a newborn what its purpose in life is. Does baby want a job, a career, fame, a bank account?

Or perhaps it's infused with an ineffable desire, energy, to experience life, consciousness, to be aware...

Dreams of Sacred Geometry; mechanical fashions-gears; fantastical beasts . 36"/48" acrylic painting on canvas

"All that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream"

Edgar Allan Poe

According o Indian Vedic texts, the world is "Maya", a "magic show, an illusion where things appear to be present but are not what they seem".

Māyā is also a spiritual concept connoting "that which exists, but is constantly changing and thus is spiritually unreal", and the "power or the principle that conceals the true character of spiritual reality"."

It does make sense that our waking lives are much as our dreams, fleeting, ever-flowing, changing, metamorphosing into unimaginable, at times ecstatic, sometimes daunting forms; and then starting again, always diverse and colorful, to keep itself engaged, absorbed...

Maya...The eternal play of God...

Is it eternal? I don't know, we've been here for such a short time...much less that the dinosaurs, and everyday this human ride looks less like a play and more like an experiment... perchance a very short experiment...

But that's ok. Maybe we're meant to go out with a bang! instead of a whimper.

Discovery, Curiosity and Knowledge

Because everything is interconnected, we may often feel like a leaf in the stream of creation...and not necessarily in the fatalistic sense, but in the sense that deep in our soul, we know where we come from and where we are going all along. We are equipped with ultimate knowledge since our very incarnation!

And I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes from my favorite comedian: as always, Bill Hicks keepin' it real:

"Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration;

That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself, subjectively;

There is no such thing as death;

Life is only a dream;

And we are the imagination of ourselves.

Here's Tom with the weather."
