Appreciate a Dragon Day

Hi, all!

Today is January 16, 2020; it's national "Appreciate a Dragon Day".

Surprised?

Me too- happily surprised!

The dragon is a legendary creature that symbolizes protection, success, wisdom, loyalty, fearlessness, strength, and immense possibility. Being the master of all four elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind, it also embodies Primordial power.

The dragon totem brings magic and balance into your life, helping you to get in touch with your psychic nature. The dragon asks you to view the world through the window of Mystery and wonder.

Although the dragons of the East and the West have quite similar physical characteristics, their symbolic representations are drastically different and, in a way, indicate the cultural differences between these civilizations. The most notable difference between the Asian and European dragons is that while the European folklore has portrayed the dragons as evil, fearsome and malevolent creatures, the Asian cultures regard them as benevolent beings.

I prefer to focus on the latter:)

In the Orient, they are seen as mythical beings having magical powers and symbolize water in Asian cultures. The dragons of ancient India have been the Nagas’, serpents that existed in the underworld and harbored enmity with the Eagle-Man God, Garuda. These creatures were considered the wise and benign guardians of the life-giving properties of water.

Dragons prefer to live by their own rules and if left on their own, are usually successful.

"Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus"

To walk with the Dragon is to enter the realm of Ancient High Magic.

Dragon is the equalizer.

Of all spirit animals, the dragon totem is one of the most powerful. The dragon spirit animal has a wide range of emotions and qualities. You can read more about it here.

A spiritual dragon can represent a transformation. This could be the transformation in relation to a physical change, spiritual change, emotional change or simply a change within your life such as moving.

It could be that your change is so drastic that your dragon spirit guide has been called forth from within you, even if your conscious mind was unaware of it.

Your spiritual dragon wants you to reach your true potential. It can provide insight and metaphysical knowledge to those who are worthy and pure. Some associate the appearance of a spiritual dragon with riches but in reality, it is to do with being rich with happiness. This is true wealth and is an example of one path that spirit dragons may guide us down.
